Tulsi salve is a pretty spectacular topical cream made with organic coconut oil, local beeswax, and the magical herb, holy basil, or tulsi, as we love to call it! Tulsi, an herb used most commonly in Ayurvedic medicine, is rich in antioxidants, such as vitamin K, vitamin E and contains iron. Its list of medicinal benefits is long and vast making it one of those herbs you simply can not live without!

Our Tulsi salve is to be used topically and may be helpful in treating a variety of skin ailments and irritations. Tulsi is anti-inflammatory and moisture retentive making this salve a superb remedy for any skin ailment where inflammation is involved.

Use it like sunscreen before sun exposure and can be used post sun exposure to help skin heal from sunburn.Use it on acne or insect bites to speed recovery and reduce swelling. Dab on eczema or psoriasis spots to help skin heal.Great for dry skin and chapped lips.Put on rashes, wounds, and burns to promote healing and fight infection. Rub on inflamed joints or bruises for almost instant relief. Tulsi helps relieve stress and promote restful sleep by rubbing into pressure points, temples or into the soles of your feet before bed. Tulsi has been known to act as an insect repellent and if needed, will aid in treating an insect bite. Tulsi may help treat skin disorders such as ringworm and acne because it contains linoleic acid.Tulsi is also antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. Tulsi is an adaptogen herb (An adaptogen is something that helps the body adapt to stress) .

We use coconut oil as our base or carrier oil, in which we infuse the fresh organic tulsi basil from the garden. Coconut oil assimilates well and fast and has a long shelf life. We guarantee that the tulsi salve will stay firm and fresh for up to a year if stored under 75 degrees Fahrenheit. But we doubt it will last that long! The beeswax is sourced locally (Quincy, Ca) and will seal moisture and protect against free radicals. Vitamin A in beeswax improves hydration and promotes cell regeneration. Beeswax thickens the salve and won't suffocate skin.

Our favorite way to use tulsi salve is as a stress and pain reliever, especially after a long day on the farm, we like to apply around pressure points and on the feet. It's always best to experiment with it, and figure out what works best for you.

Store in a cool dark place for up to a year.
